L5-S1 disc compression
My mother suffering from severe backpain, radiate to right leg(mainly in calf muscles)and also twitching since 5 days.she has history of severe backpain 6 year back. she has also a history of rheumatoid arthritis and hypertension from 3 years for which she was taking medicine...and now it is controllable.. She also doing physiotherapy regularly Now on MRI finding- 1-large posterior right central lateral broad based protrusion of the L5-S1 disc compressing thecal sac and the right S1 nerve root with encroachment of neural foramina contacting the exiting nerve roots. 2-diffuse L4-5 bulge indenting thecal sac and encroaching the foramina contacting the exiting nerve roots. Facet arthropathy seen at this level .. 3-Lumbar canal stenosis at L5-S1 disc level.. Present treatment..she is on traction of 14 kg. Please suggest supportive treatment and management...

As per the MRI findings, she will need a disc surgery or else rest may be benificial.
