I am having Knee pain and swelling in legs from last 8-9 years. I am not able to walk properly. For the mean time I am having calcium and vitamins but there is no effect from these medicines.

You seem to have pain and swelling in the legs for almost 9 years. Possible reasons for this are:
1. Inflammatory arthritis or hereditary arthritis. Eg. Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout, etc. (More likely)
2. Age related arthritis Eg. Osteoarthritis (less likely)

Consult a Knee specialist who will differentiate between the two. If required, he will send you to a rheumatologist, who can give you medicines to control the inflammatory arthritis
