Although your X-ray is normal and you do not have significant pain, the sensation of the knee “slipping” or giving way after an injury may indicate a ligament injury (such as an ACL or collateral ligament sprain) or, less commonly, a meniscal injury. These soft tissue injuries are not visible on X-rays. A detailed clinical examination is necessary to assess knee stability and determine the severity of the injury.
Next Steps
Consult an orthopaedic surgeon for a clinical examination. Until then, avoid sports, running, jumping, and pivoting movements. If the knee remains unstable, develops swelling, or gives way repeatedly, an MRI may be required to evaluate the ligaments and menisci.
Health Tips
Follow the RICE protocol (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) for the first 48–72 hours. Seek immediate medical attention if you are unable to bear weight, the knee locks, or you develop significant swelling or increasing pain.

This is a very common type of injury. Xray shows normal. But after the accident , if you have any kind of swelling and symptoms of Knee Imbalance, it can be because of injury to the ligaments.
Next Steps
After 1-2 weeks, you should get an MRI after the swelling reduces. Not before that.
Health Tips
Start wearing Long Knee Brace till the time

A normal X-ray doesn’t rule out ligament or meniscus injuries. Since you’re experiencing instability while weight-bearing, please consult an orthopaedic surgeon for examination, as an MRI may be needed if symptoms persist.
Next Steps
Examination by orthopaedic surgeon followed by MRI
Health Tips
Avoid weight bearing and use a long knee brace to avoid further damage to the knee joint.
