Kidney functionality
My father was recently diagnosed with high value of creatinine (5.5). He was admitted & has been under treatment since then. The value is increasing ever since. It is now about 6.2. He is very reluctant about dialysis though doctor has still not asked to undergo the same. Can we manage without dialysis? Any treatment?

It's unlikely that he can do without dialysis in the medium to long term. Kidney failure due to diabetes is generally not reversible. The longer dialysis is delayed, the more problems patients generally face. While his reluctance to undergo dialysis can be understood, most patients ultimately start dialysis. But the delay affects the health very adversely.
