I did my serum creatinine serum urea and egfr test as my yearly general health checkup.. creatinine - 0.49 egfr -132 and serum urea 19.. my bp was 116/80 two days before the test.. Is it indicating hyperfiltration? Or do I need further test?
Your kidney numbers look healthy overall. A creatinine of 0.49 and urea of 19 are both well within the normal range, and your blood pressure is normal too. An eGFR of 132 isn't automatically abnormal, it's often seen in young, well hydrated adults, and by itself it doesn't confirm hyperfiltration.
Next Steps
Hyperfiltration is usually diagnosed alongside risk factors like diabetes, high BP or obesity, not from one reading alone. If you'd like to track this, repeat the same panel in 6 to 12 months and keep up good hydration meanwhile.
Health Tips
If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of kidney disease, please mention this to a physician, since the workup would differ.
