Jaw Pain..
Hello doctor I'm experiencing pain on the left side of the jaw for last 10 days or more. The intensity has dropped from high to mild now but it is still annoying. The pain usually start when I open my mouth and sideway movement of jaw (more painful). There is no tooth pain at all. And I'm a regular smoker and took meds for acute maxillary sinus 2 months back. So I would like you to advice me regarding the same. Thank you

Hello sir.. Your condition mostly resembles left tempero mandibular joint pain.. The advice would be complete rest to the joint.. Semi solid food.. Analgesics like aceclofenac, paracetaml on sos basis.

Hello sir. Most likely it could be a problem with your temporomandibular (jaw joint). Usually this pain happens when theres a strain to that joint which happens if you chew your food on the opposite side of the jaw(in your case, chewing on the right side). So what you need to do is 1) take a pain killer+ muscle relaxant combination medicine for a few days 2) soft diet... say rice/idli/ dosa etc. 3 )when you are chewing, chew food equally on both sides. 4) dental consultation for any caries tooth 5) if the pain killer and the soft diet dont work, you could go for temporomandibular joint physiotherapy.
