Ear pain after hit on jaw/ear area
Hi Doctor, On Friday night I was hit/slapped pretty hard right across my head/jaw/ear are by my partner. Right after the area was really red and throbbing and felt warm. The morning after I felt as if I got cotton stuck in my ear. I’ve tried to blow out air by holding my nose, but no air is coming out or any whistling noise from my ear. There has been no discharge from the ear, but I’ve been in constant pain for now two days. What can be the cause? I’m terrified my hearing will be affected.

Actually you may be lucky! instead of your eardrum getting ruptured, as is usually the case, the impact of the slap may have dislodged the ceruminous debris from the walls of the ear canal and onto the eardrum thereby inadvertently protecting it! the pressure and constant contact of this debris on the eardeum is causing the pain.
Next Steps
Please fix up an appointment with an ENT Specialist or a GP trained and equipped with Ear cleaning equipment, and have your ears examined and if he confirms my diagnosis, a simple microsuction assisted cleaning will remedy the situation.
Health Tips
please consult your Lawyer regarding the domestic abuse issue, as next time you may not be so fortunate!
