Most commonly juglodiagstric lymphadenitis, because of chr tonsillitis. It may become painful during acute exacerbation of tonsillitis. Nothing serious. May improve with proper treatment.
Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT
Swollen lymph nodes that persist for a long time (chronic lymphadenopathy) but only become tender during infections (like cold or flu) are often reactive in nature. This means the lymph node is responding to infections in the surrounding areas such as throat, ear, teeth, or upper respiratory tract.
Since it has been stable for over 10 years without progressive increase in size, redness, fixation, weight loss, night sweats, or any other alarming symptoms, it is less likely to be something serious like malignancy or tuberculosis.
Next Steps
However, a clinical examination is advised. An ultrasound of the neck or FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) may be recommended to rule out any underlying pathology.
