IVF failure
I'm married for 4yrs. Irregular periods from 14yrs puberty. Diagnosed with PCOS; Unicornuate Uterus with left non-communicating rudimentary horn [Uterus size- 6.8cm]; Delayed Ovulation- need to be stimulated; anti-thyroid & anti-TSH antibodies High. Underwent 4 IUI cycles- No pregnancy; 1st mini-IVF attempt:- 3rd Jan 2017- Egg Retrieval- 5 Eggs [2- good quality; 3-medium quality] [ICSI done] 5th Jan- 2 Grade-1 Embryos transferred. [Endometrial.Thickness on 2nd Jan- 10.6mm] Husband Sperm- Good motility; Abnormal Forms - 02%. Continuous Estradiol/Progesterone tabs+Suppositories/Injection+Sildenafil+Vitamins given. 2 week-wait- Negative beta-HCG. Kindly clarify my doubt on failed implantation, whether the reason for failure due to Husband's abnormal sperm forms or my uterus is weak/small/unicornuate?

It is natural to feel disheartened when your first IVF cycle does not work out. The chance of success with a good IVF cycle is about 40% ; even when the best of the embryos are transferred . . Since the size of your uterus is fine and so are your husband's sperms, they don't seem to be the cause of embryos not getting implanted. Take heart from the fact that you did develop good embryos. Unfortunately the embryos didn't get implanted in the first cycle could simply be a matter of chance and you stand a great chance of conceiving in subsequent IVF cycle. All the best and may your next IVF cycle work out just fine!!

Whatever anyone says , the pregnancy rates of a single ICSI cycle is only 30%. Was the option of frozen transfer discussed with you ? That can slightly increase pregnancy rates. Do a hysteroscopy before the next procedure. Take a break of a month. This can improve implantation along with low dose aspirin. Plan for freeze all next cycle
