Itching in private area
Hello Doctor, For the past 1-2 days I’ve been feeling an itching/irritation in my private area while urinating. This started after my last periods. I’m not having any discharge, but the itching happens especially after I wash. Could this be an infection? Please suggest what I should do and if any tests or treatment are needed. Thank you.

Care AI Shimmer
Itching after periods without discharge is often from local irritation, soap residue, or mild fungal overgrowth from the moist post-period days. Menstrual products, hair removal, and scented washes are common triggers.
Next Steps
Please rinse only with plain water, wear cotton underwear, and book a gynaecologist visit if this does not settle in a week or if discharge, burning, or fever appear.
Health Tips
Please avoid perfumed washes, wipes, and over-the-counter creams without a consult.

This can be due to irritants like soap ? Talc ? V wash  ? Etc . You can have an urine routine microscopy test to rule out urinary infection.
