Is this thyroid cancer??
I’m reaching out to seek a second opinion regarding my sister, Nandana, who is 22 years old. She has a lump on the left side of her lower neck, along with signs of thyroid enlargement. So far, the following investigations have been done: • Neck USG • FNAC • Ultrasound-guided FNAC • Excision biopsy • CECT Neck Based on the current findings, the suggested course of action is surgical removal of the thyroid and the affected lymph nodes. Is this a thyroid cancer? Is there any chance of spreading to lungs as it's already in lymph?

The incisional biopsy done from the swelling does not conclusively report as malignancy. But imaging is suggestive of malignancy with multiple lymph node involvement also. You can proceed with total thyroidectomy and left sided neck dissection as planned. Based on the detailed histo pathology report of the surgery, diagnosis of follicular carcinoma (?) can be confirmed and further treatment can be planned.
