Is this open locked jaw or frozen jaw?
Hi, I have jaw pain under ear lobe and neck for 14 months now. Seen an oral surgeon, sent me for jaw MRI. Had MRI yesterday.tech gave me some popsicle sticks pile to bite on to capture open mouth position. I couldn't take those sticks out after the MRI. She was telling me to take it out. I couldn't. It felt like those sticks stuck with my front teeth.sticks stuck and couldn't open my mouth wider than that to take those out. I have limited mouth opening 32mm.felt like teeth got numb and sticks stuck with front teeth like magnet. I moved my lower jaw left and right to take those sticks out. I was opening very wider than usual to hold those sticks. So I couldn't open wider than that to take it out. It was stuck and couldn't open mouth wider too. I took it out and able to close my mouth. But jaw hurts infront and under ear lobe.is this open locked or frozen jaw? I don't know why I couldn't take those sticks. Taken NSAIDs for pain. It still hurts infront/under of ear lobe. Is it open lock

Good evening mam, I have gone through your description. I think You are talking about your joint called TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint). No need to worry. This type of pain and clicking sound occurs when this joint get overworked. This overwork happens unconsciously. Follow this instruction for few days you may get relief from this problem. 1. Prevent Wide opening of your mouth. (It happens when you yawn. Grip your nose and cheek with your fingers and lock it when you yawn it helps you to prevent wide opening of your mouth). 2. Avoid side to side movement of your lower jaw. It cause more damage to your joint. 3. Stop sleeping left or right side to avoid unnecessary movement of your lower jaw. 4. Avoid eating Hard food like Waffers. 5. Strictly follow this instruction for 15 days you may get relief.
