Jaw Alignment options
My 11 year old daughter has a slightly protruding lower jaw. Can it be fixed without surgery and what will be the approximate cost. I am from Mumbai.

Since she's still 11, her dentition and jaw ratio needs to be clinically assessed. If its still in mixed dentition, intervention treatments can be tried depending solely upon the dentition. If permanent dentition is erupting /fully erupted , then braces/ aligners or surgery are options.

Please contact an Orthodontist ,since she's 11,growth spurt can be can be used to correct Jaw alignment ,but to what extent it can be corrected will depend upon degree of malocclusion.
This is usually the age ,when orthodontic treatment is started as almost all permanent teeth have erupted/erupting .If at all surgical intervention is needed, Orthodontist will liaise with an Oral &Maxillofacial Surgeon and will guide as required.
Cost will depend upon what type of braces is involved, and the area and expertise of dentist.

Hello,
Since her age is 11 and at this stage if the lower jaw seems to be protruding, chances of this increasing are high since she has not completed her jaw development.
Whether it can be corrected with surgery or with orthodontics (braces) would depend on the degree to which the jaw is protruding.
The cost would vary depending on what kind of treatment she requires

Just consult an orthodontist... By looking at the patient and examing it , he can rule out the treatment options. Don't wait and consult soon. An orthodontist is specialist of braces teeth alignment, aligners , jaw correction.
