Hello Doctor,
For the past week, I have been experiencing itching, redness, and a white patch/material on the skin around the head of my penis. The white material is attached to the skin and does not wipe off easily.
Until now, I had never retracted my foreskin to check underneath. When the itching started, I searched online and found that I should retract the foreskin to inspect the area. After doing that, I noticed these white patches and redness for the first time.
I have attached photos. Could you please examine them and let me know the diagnosis and the appropriate treatment?

The combination of redness, itching, and adherent white patches under the foreskin is very characteristic of Candidal Balanitis â a fungal infection of the glans penis. This is common in uncircumcised men, especially when the foreskin hasn't been regularly retracted and cleaned, as the warm moist environment promotes fungal growth. It is treatable and not a serious condition.
Next Steps
Apply an antifungal cream (clotrimazole or miconazole) under the foreskin twice daily for 1-2 weeks, and keep the area clean and dry. Gently retract and wash daily. Consult a doctor if it doesn't improve. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
