Is it normal to bleed 12 days after d&c?
I had an abortion (d&c) at 5 weeks on the 12 days ago. I had very light spotting the week and then started bleeding lightly on the 9th day. It was like a medium to heavy period on the 10th and 11th day and with cramping. The bleeding still continues on the 12th day. Is it normal?

Spotting is expected after D&c for 7-8 days . If it’s still happening beyond that , then you need to meet your gynecologist for complete evaluation and examination.

Yes bleeding for up to around 1–2 weeks after a D&C/early surgical abortion can be within the normal range, and the pattern described in the screenshot can occur. However, the change from very light spotting to heavier bleeding around day 9–11 deserves attention if it is truly heavy or is not settling.

Spotting after a D&C usually settles within seven to ten days, so bleeding that got heavier with cramping on day ten and eleven, and is still going on day twelve, is past what is typical.
