Hi,
I have been dealing with lower jaw pain under right ear with swelling since may. It started after I chew some food more than usual and next day I heard a pop in the jaw, pain and swelling started the same day.
I had ear pain, jaw pain from day 1.Went to ENT to check sinus as I had facial pain, congestion.he did an Endo,no infection in ear, sinus. Pain radiates to side of the neck in June&swollen a little. Went to dentist and he told me to extract upper wisdom tooth. I went to the oral surgeon& removed it.Even after that, symptoms persist.I went to OS &referred me to tmj specialist. I also started the pain in top side of the head above the ear. Sore pain. It's like sore scratching/burning pain in side of the neck, lower jaw under the ear, inside the ear and top right of the head(one spot above the ear). It hurts to touch under the ear neck and head. Tmj specialist said it's TMJD,told me to try physical therapy or splint treatment.had another dentist tele visit,he said might be ES.help.

Hi, the symptoms you have mentioned point towards possibility of eagle's syndrome. X ray opg does show . a clinical examination and palpation of tonsils would be needed to confirm and go ahead with surgery.

To diagnose Eagle’s Syndrome you need to be examined by palpating the tonsil on the affected side and you need an XRay - water’s view with mouth open. It’s less common in your age group but can easily be ruled out.
Next Steps
X-ray PNS water’s view with mouth open, Clinical examination
