Dear Sir It's great that you are feeling better. Antidepressant medication are usually safe and does not have any major side effects die to long term use. We do not recommend stopping the medication suddenly and it needs to be tapered of gradually it is advisable to do this under supervision of a psychiatrist. So kindly consult a psychiatrist in person as there is a risk of recurrence of depression if the medication is stopped suddenly. Thanks Regards Dr Ankita Mishra

Hi If you are feeling well on antidepressants for more than 9 to 12 months, you can consider coming off it gradually with the help of a psychiatrist. Antidepressants are not life threatening medications !! They are like any other medication like insulin for diabetes and antibiotics for chest infection. Every medication has side effect and not everyone gets them. Take advice from your psychiatrist to wean you off from antidepressant. Take care
