Generally coronary angiography is a safe procedure and usually done under local Anesthesia and sedation. Any invasive procedure has some complications, but in a good setup these are very minimal.

If you get it done from a well reputed and qualified doctor, it is a safe procedure and yes anesthesia is used as it is an invasive procedure, if you still have confusion, discuss the details with your doctor who will be responsible for the procedure. Your vitals will be checked and recorded before the procedure, a qualified doctor will take care of all the things to make sure it is done correctly and without involving any risk
