Is 37 weeks safe time for delivery
Currently I am in my 37 weeks of pregnancy. The pregnancy is high risk because of weight and pre diabetic. Earlier we were told to schedule delivery in 37 weeks, but since every thing is going good, our doctor has suggested to postpone the delivery by 1 week, but there is a risk that water can break and labour pain can take place in this week and an emergency c-section will have to be undertaken. Hence need to understand that if there are any risk of delivery is undertaken in 37 week, instead of postponing the delivery?

In Diabetic patients the lung maturity appears little late so if everything else is normal the ultrasound findings ; the sugar levels are under control you should deliver at 38 weeks completed

Preferably delivery not before 38 weeks until unless needed. Your doctor is right.
