Insulin in pregnancy
Hi I'm 29 weeks pregnant, I'm a diabetic before pregnancy,not a gestational diabetes.till now I'm on metformin tablet 500 mg at night .when I entered into 7 th month my sugar levels are increasing with metformin 1gm morning and 1gm night ,but I  have done the test yesterday 2gms of metformin is not sufficient for me then my doc told we will go for insulin to control the sugar levels.my question is after my delivery can I move to metformin or should I continue insulin till lactation period complete?

Hi., I can understand your concern. You need to plan for insulin for now. Once your sugar levels is controlled after labor, you can switch it to metformin again.

Right now insulin.. mostly sugars will regress after delivery and Metformin can be tried
