29 weeks pregnant/sugar test
I am 29 weeks pregnant. I have low amniotic fluid index of 8 cm. Doctor advised to take IV fluids. Before that she checked my blood sugar level. She said I have little elevation in sugar level after food(Blood sugar fasting 83 mg/dl, blood sugar PP is 156 mg/dl and Urine sugar fasting and urine sugar PP is NIL). I had a confident i don't have sugar. So one and half hour after lunch I checked once again in the same day, my sugar level it is 103 mg/dl. My question is whether I have to take diabetic medicines before I take IV fluids ( my gynae said blood sugar will increase after glucose). Please give me suggestion. I attached both the reports.

Certainly you are not diabetic. In pregnancy we have to keep watch on blood sugar for precaution wise to avoid gestational diabetes. You can continue fluid and check blood sugar .if needed you can take anti diabetes pill.
