Insomnia, anxiety
I seem to have developed insomnia. I barely get any sleep, and I get random panic attacks, not visual but mental. I lose sight of what to do and what to think. I don't know what to do anymore, I'm getting constant self-harming thoughts but I don't know what to do. I know it's not right so I don't do anything. Please help.

🧠 My Opinion (As a Psychiatrist): Thank you for having the courage to express this. What you're describing—insomnia, panic attacks, confusion, and self-harming thoughts—are serious symptoms that indicate underlying emotional distress, likely falling under anxiety or depressive disorders. The fact that you’re aware something’s wrong and yet feel frozen is a very real and painful experience, not uncommon in mental health conditions. These symptoms are not a weakness or failure, but a call for help—and you’ve already taken the first step by speaking up.
Next Steps
🪜 Next Step (What Should the Patient Do Next): ✅ Please consult a psychiatrist immediately—these thoughts need professional attention and care. There are safe and effective medications and therapies available. ✅ You may also benefit from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which helps manage panic, anxiety, and harmful thoughts. ✅ If you ever feel overwhelmed or unsafe, please reach out to a crisis helpline or go to the nearest hospital immediately. ✅ You can even start by booking an online consultation from the safety of your home
