I have slight pain on one side of my throat sometimes.I recently visited an ent he told me I have tonsils.I fear do I have cancer?

Cancer doesn't present as slight occasional pain..there will be associated symptoms and specific history also.Most likely you are suffering from acute tonsillitis.
