Exclusively breastfeeding   2 to 3 hour,  for 20 to25 minutes  till 6 months. You sit in a very  comfortable  position  with privacy. Awake the  baby  properly,  start  with  one breast  , feed  the baby  till it empty, shift to other breast  till baby is  satisfied.  Keep minimum  of 2 hours  to  for next   feed. If baby is  sleeping  wait  till  3 hours,  Don't  worry  about  how  much  baby is  getting.. Monitor  weight  of the baby  monthly  once. If baby is gaining  minimum  750 gms  per month  ,is very  satisfactory.. till 6 month. After 6 month start  semi  solid  food ,along with breastfeeding.

Please mention the birth weight and present weight. That gives us an idea whether the child is putting on proper weight and thus enough milk. You have also not mentioned whether he is breastfed or top fed. On an average the child should put on 25-30 gms daily during this period.
