In TIFFA scan they are abnormalities
My wife is 17th week pregnancy, we have done tiffa scan at 17th week 1 day, in the reports they are abnormalities, Dr. Are advised to terminate the baby, after 5years she got convince, we don't want to loose our baby, is there any chance to get normal conditions of the baby? Pls advise im worry about the situation.. i have done the scan twice at the same day but results are same..pls find the attached report.. also results are Impression Single gestation corresponding to a gestational age of 17 Weeks 1 Day Gestational age assigned as per LMP Placenta - Posterior Presentation - Variable Estimated fetal weight according to BPD AC-161 +/-16.1 FL,AC-139+/-13.9 BPD.HC,AC,FL-147+/-14.7 gms. Liquor - Adequate Midline falx seen Unilateral lateral ventricle cyst noted 8x7mm mild cranial oedema noted cerebellar small size Vermis agenesis Advised follow up Tiffa scan

The TIFFA scan shows abnormalities in the brain. Scan done twice and showing same results, it must be right. I suggest you should consult a specialist in Foetal medicine. They are available in most of the big cities which have a Medical College. Most of the brain anomalies are not correct-able after birth. So it becomes a very difficult situation when the baby is born.
Next Steps
Please consult a specialist in Foetal medicine in your city for his opinion if some treatment can be offered to the foetus now or after delivery.
