IBS Treatment
I have been suffering from chronic loose motions since last two months.Consulted a gastroenterologist who diagnosed it as IBS-D and advised me to take Rifagut 500, Librax, Pan D and prebiotic to be taken twice a day. I did not get much relief after having these medicines. Got endoscopy and colonoscopy done today which have come out normal..The doctor advised me to continue with the same medicines. Wanted to know if there is any permanent treatment of IBS in ayurveda or homeopathy?

At 43 gastro and Colonoscopy to rule out malignancy is the right way to go and evidence based. However it would be useful to know if you had random colonic biopsies at the time and their results. IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion. Although there is some evidence for Rifagut and certainly for probiotics unfortunately for rest you are on there is no evidence and as you have realised they don't work. Ibs is not curable but manageable. It would be interesting to have a chat with you. Krishna Consultant Upper Gi and Bariatric Surgeon Leeds General Infirmary NHS UK 🇬🇧
