IBS and anxiety
Hi doctor, I have the problem of ibs and I am getting married after 2 months . Is ibs a disease ? Will it affect my marriage life ? I am very much worried .

Hello IBS - Irritable Bowel Syndrome is the most common functional GI problem. It is not life threatening and has no effect on marriage life. So please lessen your anxiety. IBS occurs because of changes in the function of GI system and hence most of the investigations would be normal. It is easily treatable condition and most important aspect of treatment is reassurance that it is not a major disease. Please take care and allay your unnecessary worries.
