A 3 mm stone may pass naturally within weeks with good hydration. No guaranteed way to remove it without medicines, but drink plenty of water and stay active.

Less than 5mm renal stone which is single, no hydronephrosis or not having severe pain is managed conservatively. Means only symptomatic treatment and follow up with urologist every 6 months to 1 year is needed. Also these type of stones are usually reported on ultrasound which is not a very sensitive method to detect renal stones especially if you have no pain.Usually an xray KUB or NCCT is best to see a stone if suspected. RIRS is good for removal of small stones usually > 5mm. Stone this small size rarely needs surgery.
