First of all, thank you for sharing this. It takes courage to talk about what is going on inside your mind. What you are describing is not weakness and not imagination. This is how anxiety and overthinking disorders actually work. It usually starts with one fear (exam, future, job, failure) and slowly the mind learns a habit of constantly thinking “what if something goes wrong”. Over time, this becomes automatic and exhausting. You are not broken. Your brain is stuck in threat mode. That is why thoughts keep coming again and again even when you logically know they may not happen. Also, reading symptoms online and relating to them does not mean you are “making things up”. It means you are trying to understand your pain. Anxiety and OCD often come together, and both are very treatable conditions.
Next Steps
The most important next step is this: please consult a mental health professional in real life (psychologist or psychiatrist). Since this has been going on for 4 years, you should not fight this alone anymore. Anxiety and OCD respond very well to therapy and sometimes medicine. This is not a lifetime problem if treated properly. Also, please stop trying to solve everything only inside your head. Your mind is tired. You deserve support.
Health Tips
When thoughts come like “What if I fail?”, “What if I don’t get a job?”, don’t try to fight them or prove them wrong. Just say inside your head: “This is my anxiety talking, not reality.” Do not Google symptoms again and again. It increases fear and makes OCD and anxiety stronger. When your mind is racing, bring your attention to your body. Slow breathing, walking, washing face with cold water, or holding something cold in your hand helps calm the nervous system. Limit overthinking time. If your brain starts worrying, tell yourself: “I will think about this later.” Then gently shift to something physical like walking, bathing, or cleaning. Most important: your future is not decided by your thoughts. Anxious thoughts feel real, but they are not predictions.

Hi Living with anxiety and overthinking for many years can be very tiring and emotionally draining. From what you’ve shared, your mind keeps creating “what if” thoughts about exams, jobs, and the future, even when you know logically that these fears may not come true. This pattern can slowly turn into anxiety and OCD, but it does not mean there is anything wrong with you. It simply means your mind has learned to stay in constant worry mode. The good news is that anxiety and OCD can be managed and treated with proper therapy. With the right support, you can learn to control your thoughts, feel calmer, and trust yourself again. You don’t have to suffer alone. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

Hi Through your message it is clear you are feeling uneasy and upset. You have OCD or not and to what severity should be tested first. Don't label yourself before that. You can easily overcome Anxiety with psychotherapies, little lifestyle changes  and medicines ( if required). It can be treated, for that you need to be consistent with the process of healing.
Next Steps
seek consultation
Health Tips
Breathing exercises 15 mins-  nature walk. use grounding techniques to distract yourself from repetitive thoughts. if you find yourself hooked with a thought, change the space, move to another room or open air. it will help.

Hi. What you’re describing sounds like anxiety with overthinking, and possibly OCD-type thoughts. You are not weak—this is a common and treatable mental health condition. The constant “what if” thoughts about exams, jobs, and the future are symptoms of anxiety, not predictions of reality. The good news: anxiety and OCD respond very well to treatment. A combination of CBT (therapy) and, if needed, medication can significantly reduce these thoughts and help you regain control. You don’t have to manage this alone or temporarily anymore. Please consult a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist for proper assessment and treatment. With the right help, people recover and lead normal, successful lives.

Hi.If you are having symptoms for a while it is better to consult a psychiatrist at the earliest. It is possible for anxiety and OCD be present in the same person. But without knowing detailed history we cannot make a diagnosis. All you need to know is both these conditions can be treated with therapy and medications.
Next Steps

Hi First, I want you to know you are not weak or broken. What you are describing sounds like anxiety and overthinking, and many people go through this, even if they don’t talk about it. Overthinking about exams, jobs, and the future is very common, especially at your age. Your mind is trying to protect you by thinking of “what if” situations, but it ends up making you feel worse. That doesn’t mean those bad things will really happen. About OCD: searching symptoms online can make you feel more scared. Only a mental health professional can properly say if it is OCD or anxiety. But the good news is: both anxiety and OCD are treatable. You have already done something strong by sharing your problem and asking for help. That shows you want to get better. Some small things that may help: • Try to focus on what you can do today, not 10 years in the future • When a negative thought comes, tell yourself: “This is just a thought, not a fact” • Do breathing exercises or light physical activity daily • Talk to someone you trust about what you feel Most important: if possible, please talk to a psychologist or psychiatrist. Therapy and sometimes medicine really help with these problems. Your life is not over. You are only 22. You still have time to learn, grow, fail, and succeed. Future is not decided yet. You are not alone in this. Many people feel like you do and they get better. So can you.
Next Steps
Consult a psychologist
