Clove oil can irritate soft tissues and in some individuals cause ulcers. You can use hexigel or dologel / Oragard B on the affected area.
Next Steps
Once ulcers have healed consult a dentist for gum treatment.
Health Tips
Avoid hot and spicy food for a few days.

Clove oil can provide temporary relief to the symptoms of teeth pain, but it has no role whatsoever in the pain of soft tissues like gums. Rather, on the contrary, it can cause chemical burn of the area due to its caustic action. Now once the ulcers have formed due to the application of clove oil, they will take approximately 7 to 10 days for complete healing. Till that time you can use anaesthetic ointments like dologel CT for temporary symptomatic relief. And please visit a dentist for a property valuation of your previous gum problem so that the objective treatment for the same can be prescribed. Regards.
