Armpit body odor: I have had a strong smell from both armpits since I was about 11 years old. The smell gets worse when I sweat. I bathe daily and use deodorant. I also tried benzoyl peroxide (Perobar 2.5%), but it did not help. 2. Bad breath: I have had bad breath for a long time even though I brush my teeth regularly. My previous CT scan showed mild sinusitis. I have attached my reports. Please review them and tell me the possible cause, whether I need any more tests, and the best treatment. Hi Make sure your armpits are clean and devoid of excessive hair in armpits. Experiencing both bad breath and foul-smelling armpits at the same time is usually caused by independent issues like poor hygiene, dry mouth, or bacterial breakdown of sweat. However, it can occasionally point to shared triggers like strong foods, dehydration, or underlying metabolic shifts. Bacterial Growth: Sweat itself is mostly odorless, but skin bacteria break it down into foul-smelling acids in the armpits. Diet & Dehydration: Eating sulfur-rich foods like garlic and onions, or drinking alcohol and caffeine, releases odors through both breath and sweat pores. Metabolic or Systemic Factors: Rare conditions, stress, or systemic issues like diabetes or kidney/liver imbalances can alter body chemistry and scent. Hydration & Diet: Drink plenty of water and cut back on strong spices, onions, garlic, and alcohol.
