When a girl is born her ovaries has many immature eggs and these are about 5 lacks in number, as her age advances her eggs keep getting destroyed. By the time she gets her first menses, the number of immature eggs remaining are just 1.5-2 lakhs and these then create mature eggas and finally when all eggs are used up, the patient fails to get menses and this is menopause. For a person the most fertile time of her life is 20-25, and for thsoe marrying later, they tend to try for a few months to a year and if they dont conceive, they get help from doctors,i.e. gynecologists who give them fertility enhancing medicines. In your case , sicne you are 35, if you are planning to conceive, we must first assess your egg reserve and then think of planning a pregnancy. Gone are the days when people used to wait for decades to conceive, this they could afford due to early marriages. Remember, fertility is NOT like a math problem where 2+2=4, it is a probability. And a natural event. The union of the sperms and egg happens in the fallopian tubes and This cannot be influenced by ordinary means.
Next Steps
When ever you take treatment from a gynecologist, please be ready to take it for 6 months at a stretch. Yes, sometimes, we need so much time to make adequate efforts. So dont get disheartened and continue treatment. It would be prudent to get the treatment done at a center equipped with treatments upto IVF, as you are at other end of the fertility range and may suddenly need to change your cycle from ordinary to one where IUI or Artificial reproductive treatments are used.
