I am having trouble to focus on studies
I am mbbs student and completed my internship in last year February Currently taking drop to focus on neetpg/inicet and not doing any job ...the problem is that I am not able to give much to my preparation due to some disturbances . Sometimes when I am too tired or any fall happens in preparation all negative thoughts related to incidents occurred in past came to my mind related to relationships, academics etc and then I loses my enthusiasm and all hope and to restart it will take almost 2-4 days to regenerate hope ,also there is a wedding in my home and between these preparations I am not getting proper environment. All these events eventually leads to vicious cycle like not studying then fall in preparation then negative thoughts of worthlessness in every aspect of life be it neet pg be it relationship be it family care and all . I know I am thinking too much and I just have to stick to my preparation but sometimes I am not able to do this.

Stress is a significant factor that can impact both mental and physical health. The NEET PG exam, being a highly competitive and demanding assessment, often brings anxiety related to performance, results, and subsequent uncertainties surrounding counseling and career decisions. Additionally, the perception that taking a break equates to wasted time can further contribute to psychological distress. The human mind naturally weighs the pros and cons of any situation; however, it has a tendency to magnify the negatives, particularly in moments of self-doubt and pressure. When faced with unfavorable life events, individuals may react by resisting, rationalizing, or attempting to mitigate their emotional impact. While these coping mechanisms may be effective in some cases, they may not always provide the desired relief. The cumulative effect of stressors can lead to adjustment difficulties, symptoms of anxiety, feelings of hopelessness or worthlessness, and a decline in motivation and focus, ultimately interfering with personal and professional aspirations. Acknowledging and articulating one’s emotions requires courage, and it is commendable that you have taken this step. As a medical professional, you are likely aware that both acute and chronic stress have well-documented mental and physical consequences. If you are experiencing persistent anxiety symptoms, negative thought patterns, or difficulty managing emotions, seeking professional support can be beneficial. It is important to recognize that change is the only constant—difficult phases are transient, and with appropriate guidance, whether through therapy, lifestyle modifications, or medical intervention if necessary, your present well-being can improve. Help is available, and recovery is possible.

Unfortunately, due to childhood trauma, relationship issues, failures and irrational fear related to future can create inability to focus. This cycle will continue until we do something treat it.
