I would like to know what symptoms lead u to measure the blood pressure! Usually if u don't have any comorbidity then u should meet a good physician before classifying urself hypertensive!!
Next Steps
u should not worry at this moment and u should definitely meet a physician for proper evaluation!

Proper history is required before prescribing any advice... Most of the time obesity or a bad lifestyle is responsible, so first treatment is lifestyle modification. Follow this advice till i see you... Basic lifestyle modifications are 1. Maintain normal weight for adults (body mass index 20 to 24 kg/m2). 2. Reduce salt intake to < 6 g NaCl or <2.4 g Na+/day 3. Limit smoking and alcohol consumption, if any 4. Engage in regular aerobic physical exercise (brisk walking rather than weightlifting) for 45 minutes per day, ideally on most days of the week but at least on five days of the week. 5. Consume only 2 or 3 meals in a day without any sugar or sugary foods. It must include fresh low carbohydrate fruit and vegetables 6. Reduce the intake of trans and saturated fats. 7. Stop all kinds of sugars and sugary food 8. Add green vegetables and coloured vegetables in your diet 9. Add healthy fats in adequate quantity Let's connect to discuss in detail Dr. Pankaj Kumar Founder, Diet Plus Minus (Your Diet Your Doctor)

Do BP monitoring twice in a day for 1 week. If already done, then share. Based on the consistency of readings, you need to begin medications. Consult me for detailed discussion & prescription
