Hrct radiation
Hello sir/madam I wanted to ask some basic but imp question. I recently had hrct chest for covid. But now I am filled with anxiety about knowing the fact that it's radiation can cause cancer. What is the radiation exposure value for hrct chest.also during the scan the technician had some technical difficulties with the process and stopped it in the middle and restarted the scan again. Will it count as double exposure.

You have to weigh the benefits over the side effects. If you live through COVID-19 infection, then you might suffer from projected side effects of CT scan. Getting a few CT scans done in one’s lifetime will not be life threatening.

No need to worry. Repeated HRCT within a short duration of time may cause harm. A single exposure won't cause any harm.
