How did i get herpes
Its been a week that i got diagnosed with genital herpes, my partner is already married and leads a healthy sex life with his wife past 11 years, me and him have been dating past 7 months and have been having unprotected sex without any issue so far, on 14th February we got intimate without protection and next day I see a deep cut near the hole for penetration, i thought that will heal with time but 2 days later I developed red and flat white bumps and it kept increasing with time, i showed to gynaecologist last Saturday and she gave me Aciclovir 800 mg for 3 times a day for 7 days with Fudic acid cream. I was not told it was herpes and neither was told to get tested. When we consulted a dermatologist online, we were told this is genital herpes, my partner was told to get tested, he got tested 4-5 days after intimacy and he was tested negative. I don't know how did this happen and if he is asymptomatic then his wife never had an issue these many years. Please help

Herpes can cause asymptomatic shedding
That means the virus sheds even between active boils episodes
It can be missed if the infection is mild
Blood tests for Herpes has a lot of interpretations issues
Did he test negative for HSV 1 and 2 Ig oraybe some other test
Always wear a condom irrespective unless you are in a committed monogamous relationship
