Hole in eardrum

Sir since from last six months my son is having some problems in his right ear. When I visit doctor he said that there is hole in his eardrum. Due to this white pulse are coming frequently. He recommended a medicine which has to be continued for at list six months. The medicine is 'SEPTILIN' HIMALAYA herbal health care. I need some suggestions. What to do. Where I should go. Whether it will cure with medicine or need surgery. Plz sir help me about this.

He seems to be suffering from chronic suppurative otitis media which is a common type of chronic middle ear infection. Usually permanent treatment is surgery known as tympanoplasty. Surgery is not done for children below age of 12 year. For time being you can give antibiotic ear drops and keep the ear away from water till he reaches age fit for surgery
