Hi, this is Dr Hitin Mathur, orhopaedic surgeon at Fortis  C Doc Hospital, New Delhi. Inflammation of multiple joints including hips and knees points more towards a systemic pathology rather than a local one joint affection. So you will need to get some blood tests to rule out various types of joint inflammation and arthritis like Anti CCP, ANA, ASO tires, HLA B27, Uric acid along with CBC, ESR and CRP. Sometimes reactive Arthritis can occur post a viral illness as well. Correction of vitamin D and vitamin B12 levels will also help. Start taking some antiinflammatory medications as adviced by your treating doctor for the time being. Synovial fluid examination may be needed as a second step if no conclusive evidence is found on the blood tests.
