It seems that you have damaged your hip joint during that accident Now as you are walking on the damaged hip it is causing you pain. If the pain is severe and causing difficulty in daily life and one needs to take pain killers daily it is time to act and do a surgery most likely Hip replacement. But before doing that you should be evaluated for any infection at the site. A good surgery can make you pain free for a long time 15 to 20 years.
Next Steps
Need to review the xrays.
