High TSH Found in Routine Test 8.08
I recently did a routine blood test and my TSH level came out to be 8.08. This is the first time it has been detected as high. I am a bit worried. Should I also get my T3 and T4 levels checked? Do I need to start or adjust any medication? Please guide me on what to do next. Thank you.

“Based on the information you’ve shared, this appears to be a common condition, but an exact diagnosis is not possible without a proper clinical examination. Homeopathy works well for such conditions with individualized remedies. If symptoms persist, a detailed consultation would be helpful.”

A TSH of 8.08 clearly indicates hypothyroidism, so you don’t need to worry but you should start treatment rather than waiting. You can still get T3, T4 and Anti-TPO checked for completeness, but even without those, a TSH above 8 usually requires starting a low-dose thyroid medication to bring levels back to normal and prevent symptoms from developing. Treatment is simple, safe and very effective—start the medication and recheck TSH after 6–8 weeks to adjust the dose if needed.

Do not start conventional Thyroid hormone supplementation as it causes dependence as your thyroid works of reverse feed back loop mechanism. Currently you can avoid cruciferous vegetables. Right now is the best moment to contact a homoeopathic physician since it is at a stage where it can still be reversed. For further evaluation and treatment consult online with Dr Tanmay Palsule or offline at Chinchwad or Pimple Saudagar clinic.

Its a case of HYPOTHYROIDISM ( mild ). If its the first time you detected raised level means, you are in its initially stage only. Hope not much symptoms emerged. So its the best time to start Homoeopathy. Homoeopathy will normalise TSH level within 45 days treatment, relieve thyroid related complaints and will prevent recurrency. Do following tests : TSH, T3 and Free T4 (fasting) Anti TPO ( to rule out auto immune type )

Hello! I understand your concern a TSH level of 8.08 mIU/L suggests that your thyroid is underactive (a condition known as hypothyroidism), especially since this is your first high reading. It’s good that you checked early. Yes, you should definitely get your Free T3 and Free T4 levels tested along with anti-TPO antibodies to confirm whether it’s subclinical or primary hypothyroidism. "TSH of 8.08 indicates mild hypothyroidism. It is not an emergency, but it should definitely be evaluated further. Yes, I recommend checking Free T3 and Free T4 also — this helps us understand whether your thyroid gland is underactive or whether it is just an initial change. Common symptoms of mild hypothyroidism include tiredness, weight gain, hair fall, irregular periods, mood changes and dry skin. Even if you don’t have symptoms, it’s better to address it early. Homeopathy helps very well in balancing thyroid function naturally. With proper case-taking and regular follow-up, TSH levels come down steadily. For now: ✅ Get Free T3, Free T4 tested ✅ Share your symptoms, period history, weight changes You can connect with me on Practo for a detailed evaluation and personalised treatment."**
