Hiii my mothers hbqac 2.5 months back was 5.3 and post that she suffered from chronic uti because of which she was kept on antibiotics for almost 2 month... now when we got her hb1ac checked it hows 7.8 . What could be the reason for this.. and since the last 2 days she complains of itching in the vaginal area for which she was given 3 fluconazole every 72 hr. Can some one suggest something???

HBA1C is measuring average sugar if 3 months check her fasting and PP sugar level. Her vaginitis and UTI could be due to her diabetes complications so get the sugar level treated simultaneously

There can many  reasons for hyperglycemia, one of which can be due to medications which increase blood sugar levels. Due to incease sugar level body is susceptible to infections as it acts a. Breeding ground for organisms. Can you give more history about vaginal itching? Was there any discharge ? Color? Any skins changes or blisters? Most likely it could be a candiasis infection, but since your mother must have had menopause, hyperglycemia. More detail examination is required.
