High Glucose Challenge test at 20 weeks
I am 22 weeks 3 days and my Glucose challenge test (2hr) came high. 163. But my fasting,PP and HBA1C is all perfect and normal. I am on strict diabetic diet post I got to know on this, but my gyno has still prescribed metformin 250mg before lunch and dinner. Should I be concerned? (I cannot exercise as I am on bed rest)

Since you are on strict bed rest , better to start metformin. Follow your doctor's advice. Your glucose challenge test results are high, better to start metformin as u can't do exercises and diabetic diet alone is not enough

Your Gynaecologist has done the right thing. Please get 6 specimens for Blood sugar level and consult a General Physician to find out if you need Insulin.

If sugars are under control with strict diet, than no need to start metformin, but the better person to judge would be the doctor who is seeing you, so cant say much
