High Cholestrol
Recently I got my tests done and the lipid profile was not normal. The results are as follows: Cholesterol - Total 228.0 mg/dL Triglycerides 217.0 mg/d Cholesterol - HDL 31.0 mg/dl Non HDL Cholesterol 197 mg/dl Cholesterol - LDL 153.6 mg/d VLDL -Very Low Density Lipoprotein 43.4 mg/dl Cholesterol/HDL Ratio 7.4 LDL / HDL Cholesterol Ratio 5 HDL / LDL Cholesterol Ratio 0.2 Please suggest the possible ways to optimize cholesterol. I also want to know the primary reasons for this problem.

Life style modification foremost, no junk food,no airated drinks,daily min.30 minute exercise,low salt, weight reduction, habits I don't know if smoking and ethanol there stop there. Statin low dose to be started after consulting physician/ cardiologist
