Norvasc is known to cause swelling of legs in some people, and if at all you happen to have pedal edema then you can stop and the swelling will vanish. My personnel opinion is, you start medication which your first doctor had prescribed you and then you can follow up with that doctor so that he can increase or decrease it's dose. Dosing of anti hypertensive medication is by trial and error methods, there is no any thumb of rule to start these medication.
