My father is 65 years old and he had Herpes Zoster in 2018.The upper right abdomen (near ribs) area was affected by infection. It got contained after 1-2 months of medication but the regular Neuro pain has not gone post infection.
We have consulted multiple doctors (including a very well known Neurosurgeon in India), but no pain relief. It's very difficult to see my father suffering for the last 4 years. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Post Herpetic neuralgia in most cases lasts for less than a year , but in a small percentage of people it lasts for years especially in the 60+ age group.Though there's no cure for PHN ,it can be treated with anti epileptic drugs ,anti depression drugs ,their combination local steroid injections and Botox injections ,nerve blocks etc
You can contact hospital in Bangalore where pain and palliative medicine department is functioning
