Hello so I was clinically diagnosed with genital herpes and treated for the same It was gone after that But 45 days after the medication I went for another test It was negative After 60 days hsv 1 igg was positive (2.56) range The doc told me it's negative only because it is low positive I went for another test at a different lab It showed that the test was negative Do I have herpes or not ? Can I get married in the future?

Herpes igG can remain positive for some time but it doesn’t tell you that it’s a recent infection or not. For that IgM is required. To understand the picture clearly we need to discuss and see the reports together.

Hi..IgG appears soon after infection and stays in the blood for life. IgM is actually the first antibody that appears after infection, but it may disappear thereafter.
