I'm 22 years old. I'm around 5'6 and weigh 52 kgs. I usually get my periods pretty regularly. ( 29-31 days every month) but I joined the gym this month and my due date was over 3 days ago and i still haven't got my period. It's the 34th day today. I go to the gym around 4 days a week and workout at home for the rest of the days. I used to have irregular periods back when I didn't do any exercise and lived a lazy lifestyle, but I've been having pretty regular periods for 1.5 years since then. I'm worried, pls help? I'm not sexually active at all so there's no chance of pregnancy.

Exercise-related menstrual delay is common, especially in the first two to three months of joining a gym. Sudden intense training combined with a low body fat percentage lowers reproductive hormone signaling, which delays or skips ovulation. At 52 kg on 5'6", your BMI is around 18.5, right at the lower end of normal, so a small drop in body fat from training would explain what you are seeing.
Next Steps
Continue exercising but check that you are eating enough calories to match your training load, especially protein and healthy fats. If the period does not arrive within 45 to 60 days from the last one, book a gynaecologist consultation and ask for a hormone panel (LH, FSH, TSH, prolactin) and a basic ultrasound. Once weight and hormones stabilise, the cycle typically returns within one to three months.
Health Tips
Please do not start any hormonal tablets or period-inducing medication without a doctor's prescription, and avoid over-restricting food to stay lean while training.
Cycle length upto 37 is considered normal
Gym is not the reason for the delay
Wait for three more days
If still no periods you can connect for a prescription to help you get a period
