Hi, genetic factors do determine the height of their children. Since he is an adolescent, there are hormonal changes happening in his body which are causing the change in his complexion. The same reason could be behind his increase in metabolism and shedding the baby fat. Give him a nutritious diet and allow at least an hour of physical activity something like cycling daily. Make curd, sprouts, milk, fruits nuts and water part of his daily diet. Hope this helps.
