HBA1c increase
Hello, I did my health check up and accidentally found that HBA1C is 5.7 in the range of Prediabetis but random sugar found within range. I checked my random sugar almost more than 3 times in last year and it was found always less than limit. I also have some issue in liver and always noted Bilirubin is slightly higher than limit..1.85 to 2.00. This reading is consistently there from more than last 10 years and it is harmless as advised by doctor. Please advise whether I am really in Prediabetis stage or is it false reading of HBA1C due to increased in Bilirubin level. Thanks

Elevated Bilirubin may not be the reason for ur hba1c, it will show spikes in ur blood sugar in the last 3 months even if random is normal, if u feel the lab is reliable better start regular exercise and low carbohydrate diet and repeat hba1c after 3 months
