It's not possible to comment on an ideal dose without your fasting and post meal sugars.
Along with this you can also share your last renal function test report ( creatinine)
The maximum dose of metformin we give is 2200 mg per day. As for the G, would need to know if this is g1 or g2 and how many times you are taking it to give you any helpful advice.
Consult if required. I think this can be sorted without a consult also.

If your hba1c is 7.6 it means sugar control is not good Instead of asking for dose
I will advise you to follow a strict diabetic diet and daily 45 minutes exercise with good amount of protein in your diet
